Deborah Bouchette’s Pacific Art Experiment – 500 Miles

IDSVA first year student, Deborah Bouchette has a new solo installation of her piece, Pacific Art Experiment – 500 Miles, at the Kathrin Cawein Gallery of Art at Pacific University of Oregon. As a visiting artist at Pacific University, her piece included a week-long engagement with students in drawing, design, sculpture, and senior show seminar classes. Her solo installation of a labyrinthine maze of 35 seven-foot drawings was executed on translucent silk by Deborah’s “Chaucer,” a low-tech sculptural machine that draws in the bed of Deborah’s truck while she drives.

Her solo installation has already been featured in two publications: The Portland Tribune and The Oregonian.
