Tania Romero Receives TACHE Award

Second year IDSVA student, Tania Romero, received a graduate student fellowship from the The Texas Association of Chicanos in Higher Education (TACHE).  This is a professional association committed to the improvement of educational and employment opportunities for Hispanics in higher education.  In February, she attended the 39th TACHE Conference in Fort Worth, Texas to be recognized as 1 of 4 graduate students who are committed to the education of Hispanic and Latino communities.  In her qualifying essay, she stated, “I was not born to teach; I became a teacher as a result of the leadership opportunities available in the profession.”
