IDSVA Wins Candidacy Status

A Special Note From IDSVA’s President

All,

On December 1, 2010, the Board of Trustees of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges voted to grant IDSVA candidacy status for accreditation.

IDSVA is the first school in the world to offer a PhD in philosophy to visual artists. Our worldwide residencies and renowned international faculty make IDSVA a truly global institution of higher education.

We are proud–of our faculty, of our staff and board members, and especially proud of our students. At the end of the day, it was the quality of our students that convinced the NEASC trustees of IDSVA’s unique role in developing first-rate innovative education for the 21st century.

The NEASC decision means that IDSVA can now apply for federally guaranteed student loan eligibility. Guaranteed student loans are all-important for IDSVA students, whose commitment and dedication so deserve the support of our nation’s student loan program.

My congratulations to the entire IDSVA community. Most especially, my congratulations to IDSVA’s students. You are the heart and soul–and the future!–of IDSVA.

Best!

George
