Visiting Faculty

VISITING FACULTY are internationally recognized scholars appointed to conduct residency orientations, teach special seminars, give lecture series, or hold symposia on special topics.  Visiting Faculty hold limited appointments for the duration of their assignment and general do not serve on academic committees.

Paul Armstrong

Paul Armstrong is former Dean of the College, Brown University, where he is currently Professor of English. Books include Play and the Politics of Reading: The Social Uses of Modernist Form (Cornell UP, 2005) and How Literature Plays with the Brain: The Neuroscience of Reading and Art (Johns Hopkins 2013). Paul Armstrong received the IDSVA Prize in 2010 and received an IDSVA Honorary PhD in 2013.
