Meet our 2025 David Driskell Fellow, Santana Nash

Santana Nash is an art historian, educator, and arts professional committed to advancing scholarship and public engagement in the arts. She holds an MA in Art History from Georgia State University, and her doctoral research examines African and African American contemporary art and culture. She serves as the Artistic Residency and Student Programming Coordinator at Georgia Tech, where she develops initiatives connecting students and communities with creative practitioners. Nash is an Adjunct Professor of the Arts at Georgia Military College and West Georgia Technical College. Her background includes museum education at the High Museum of Art, curatorial work at the Georgia Museum of Art and Georgia Tech, and public art engagement at MARTA. Her scholarship has appeared in the Journal of Art Crime and has been featured in exhibitions and programs across Georgia. She is committed to interdisciplinary inquiry, arts advocacy, and expanding access to art and culture.
About the IDSVA David Driskell Fellowship

Dr. David C. Driskell (1931-2020) was a founding member of the IDSVA Visiting Faculty. His inaugural IDSVA lecture was delivered at Spannocchia Castle, Tuscany, in June 2009. His final IDSVA lecture was delivered at Spannocchia Castle in June 2019. The David C. Driskell Fellowship was established in 2010. Dr. Driskell’s message of peace and understanding has inspired countless individuals around the world. In January 2013, Dr. Driskell was awarded an IDSVA Honorary Doctorate in recognition of his life service as an artist-philosopher and a world-leading spiritual philanthropist.
